The DC Super team is on the schedule for 2016, out of the gate January 15th in a time traveling new series featuring The Atom, Rip Hunter, Captain Cold, Heatwave, Firestorm, HawkGirl, Hawkman, White Canary, and the future villain Vandal Savage. “Fantastic Four 2” officially removed from 2017 lineup! Well it’s official. Fox has removed Fantastic Four 2 from any release schedule, replacing it with Murder on the Orient Express. Is the first family returning to Marvel, or just getting a Fox tuneup? “Wonder Woman” new picture and cast revealed! A new picture of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman went online this week, as the official cast was also announced, featuring Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Lucy Davis, Ewen Bremner, Said Taghmaoui, and Elena Anaya. What characters do you think they are playing in the film? The worst of all the Superman films that exist, possibly the worst superhero film ever made, this poisonous vapor-clump of super-stink destroyed the Superman movie franchise for over 17 years! Starring the amazing Christopher Reeve as Superman and Clark Kent, this Golan Globus production cut costs in every conceivable way, so that what ended up on screen was an eye burning laser beam to the brain, a painful lobotomy to all the senses, an embarrassing liquid poem made by a feral and starving animal chained up in a demented mutant’s basement. Spotlight: Planetary This weeks spotlight is on one of my favorite series, Planetary by Warren Ellis and John Cassaday. This comic follows time jumping time shifting future time agents who are involved in uncovering phenomenas of epic proportions, spanning thousands of years and multiverses. Warren Ellis just killed it with his creation of the three main characters, the hot and cold powered Elijah Snow, the IT super genius The Drummer, and the invulnerable super warrior Jakita Wagner, and their multiverse spanning jaw dropping explorations into the archetypes of popular comic book characters like The Shadow, Doc Savage and Godzilla. Like Kurt Busiek did with Astro City, Warren does with some of the golden age characters, as well as a diabolical version of the Fantastic Four simply called The Four. The artwork by John Cassaday is stunning and completely cinematic, making the translation from comic to movie or series very viewable within our own minds eye.
